 Funkatopia.com is the brain child of Chris Horton aka Mr. Christopher.  The domain was purchased to serve as the home of his funk album Funkatopia which will be released sometime in 2008 and will debut here on this website. When doing research on funk artists, he found a very lacking presence of funk music on the web.  Although hints of the genre floated about throughout music including rap, Top 40, Pop and even country, there were no unadulterated FUNK sites.  So Mr. Christopher went about to fix that problem.

This is how Funkatopia came into being.  It will serve as a hub for all lovers of funk music.  So for you fans of Parliament, early Prince, Slave, Lakeside, Ohio Players and the many other funk artists out there, welcome to Funkatopia.
